Recovery of new deep drilled well for KOC
Background
During the third logging run, a TBDS 84-ft toolstring became stuck downhole in 31
∕2-in tubing at 16248 ft. after the stuck the Streamline cable parted at 2682 ft leaving 13482 ft of streamline cable as well as the full toolstring downhole.
Proposed solution executed with Slickline and Coil Tubing segments
Many failed attempts of conventional fishing methods using spear and wire grap conveyed on both slickline and coil tubing were commenced with very low retrieval (around 500 ft). MB Lines stepped in with SLB WL and designed and prepared a cutter
that was conveyed using SLB slickline. The cutter was deployed carefully next to the stuck streamline and activated once we were at top of head.
This resulted in retrieving the full remaining amount of over than 12000 ft of streamline cable in one attempt.
Fish recovered
After cable was fully retrieved, cleaning and recovery of the string was commenced by SLB SLK and coil teams to fully recover the toolstring.
